How Carrie Underwood Found Out Her Baby's Gender

Carrie Underwood and husband Mike Fisher both had the feeling they were having a baby - but they do not want to know the doctor's office during her sonogram.

In fact, they worked hard to stay in the dark.

"[The doctor's office is] kind of a sterile place," Underwood told ABC News Radio. "We got to see all the pictures and everything. It was really great to see that, but every time she put fence, those parts that would look the other way."

Instead, Underwood, 31, and her husband, hockey player, 34, asked the doctor to write the sex of the baby to look at when they were ready. They took the envelope containing the news of the sex of the baby with them to a nice restaurant.

The Sweet Way Carrie Underwood announced her pregnancy

"[It was] just the two of us in a nice setting, but we both knew," she said. "Therefore, only confirm our suspicions. We did not really talk about it before, because we were both like, 'What is. It's all good." But we knew it was a boy. "

Of course, Underwood CMA Awards co-host Brad Paisley told the world that she was having a child during the show earlier this month. She said she planned to announce the baby's sex during the show all the time, but she did not leave Paisley in secret until the last minute.

"Brad's got loose lips. It's a blabber mouth!" Underwood said with a laugh. "So I was like, 'I'm not going to say that until we are ready for the world to know, because I know you say to people.'"
